Only 1 Session is Required For Kyo Sa & Sa Bom Candidates for Kyo Sa & Sa Bom Candidates, Optional for Certified Jo Kyo, Kyo Sa, Sa Bom
I hope this message finds you in good health and spirit,
In seminar session 2, I notice that it states this is required for Kyo Sa & Sa Bom Candidates. First question, is this session limited to only 15 participates?
[PD] Training area 17 in session 2 can accomodate more than 15 and the enrollment form has been expanded to 25
Training area 8 in Session 3 is limited to 15
Their is over 20 Kyo Sa members in the Sa Dan Candidates group, I am not sure if all are planning to test for Sa Bom. Even thou the seminar is offered in session 2 & 3 all the Sa Dan candidates are required to attend a group training in session 3.
[PD] That is correct
This means that all of those testing for Sa Bom in the group would have to attend session 2.
[PD] That is correct
The note at the top also states "Optional for Certified Jo Kyo, Kyo Sa, Sa Bom". Just to make sure I am clear on this if you are a certified Kyo Sa and testing for Sa Bom is this seminar required or is it optional?
[PD] At least one session of the seminar is required for all testing for Sa Bom unless you have already taken the seminar in a previous year.
I have one last question on this seminar. I attended this seminar last year and it was one of the best seminars I attended. Would I still be required to attend it again this year?
[PD] That's a good question. Since you have already had the training last year, you have met the attendance requirement (early) in terms of going through the seminar, so you could elect to participate in an alternate seminar this year. The only other consideration is whether or not the TAC wants all 2008 Sa Bom Certification applicants to participate together for some reason. I am not aware of any such TAC expectation for this semianr, only that all Sa Bom aplicants have at least been exposed to the seminar content 1 time, so you should be able to select an alternate seminar since you have already taken this one last year. If a TAC requirement to attend (for a 2nd time) is identified I will post that information here.
The main reason for this last question is if participation in limited to 15 or so I would not have a problem not attending to make room for one of the other members to attend. Since I did participate in this seminar last year. I did think that Kenyon Sa Bom Nim gave a great seminar session last year and this seminar would be a good one to attend this year.
Sincerely
James Willers
