The Soo Bahk Do Academy's PVT Activity:

April 24th, 2009-

 

The Soo Bahk Do Academy participated in the Marion County March for Babies (March of Dimes) fundraising effort.  This was our studios second year supporting The March of Dimes.  Not only did the students collectively raise over $3,000, but they represented the Moo Duk Kwan in our community.  We were unable to participate in the walk itself due to the Spring Shim Sa, but did not want to miss the opportunity to help premature birth research/treatment.

 

April 25th, 2009

The Soo Bahk Do Academy participated in a Summer Activity event in our local mall.  We hosted a booth to provide information about our studio and what we do to local families.

 

August 15th,2009

The Soo Bahk Do Academy hosted a booth at the local Back to School extravagganza.  Several of the senior red belt students introduced themselves to members of our community, and provided them with a demonstration of hyung, il soo sik, ho sin sool and kyok pa.  We got rained out, but did manage to have a family visit the studio as  a result of our participation.

 

August 21st, 2009

Tristan Hunter, the senior student at The Soo Bahk Do Academy initiated a collection of cat and dog food for the local humane society.  We collected a truck bed full of food to support the no kill shelter.  While this didn't generate new students, it did allow an organization in our community to understand the values that we teach at the studio on behalf of the Moo Duk Kwan.
