"It was the best yet.  The schedule with all the competitions on Saturday made for a more interesting tournament."
Debra Tessier

"I am a mother of two students who will be coming to their first Nationals. We are all very excited to be part of such an amazing event and can not wait until Aug. Our children ask every day if it is time. My question to you is about the Banquet. Our young children will be attending the Childrens Celebration. However, will they be allowed to see the Kwan Jang Nim's demonstration with us when he presents the public performance of the Hwa Sun? This event is one of the many reasons that our family is flying to the Nationals. We want our children to understand the "True" beauty of their art and why it is so very amazing!"

"I feel that the weekend was a huge success."
John Maihos

"I thought the National Festival was a huge success. I'd like to see the seminars continue next year. I do agree with everyone that the banquet was superb. Kwan Jang Nim's demonstration was priceless. And to share his birthday celebration was an occasion I will never forget! "
Denise Mullin

"What a weekend of outstanding clinics, superb demonstrations, and a smoothly run day of demonstrations by all ranks. Friday's sessions brought 2 feelings. Our Seniors gave so much in trying to share in multiple sessions and yet one had to choose something and miss  something else that you really wanted to absorb. A great challenge to have.

The demonstrations on Saturday night were something to not be missed. What can you say to even attempt to describe the Kwan Jang Nim's gift of Hwa Sun?  It brought goose bumps and tears. Master Dolby's song was right on the  money and should be recorded for all to enjoy.

A great weekend for all who made it."
Greg Bryan

"I thought the National Festival was superb. So many great seminars, it made it impossible to choose which ones to attend. Saturday night left me speechless, with all the great demo's. I would love to be able to purchase the DVD of all the performances of the evening. The Harold Payne songs were great. If the CD of the song to Kwan Jang Nim becomes available please let us know how to purchase a copy. To all those that missed this years National Festival all I can say is start making your plans for 2008. I believe this is definitely the right direction for the Federation."

Save the dates, August 14 - 22, 2008!
The National Moo Do Festival was an amazing experience, and though I don't know who they are individually, I'd like to thank the Ko Dan Ja Candidates in 1996 for developing the idea.  Though I'd already attended National Championships before this one, I left with a different feeling this year.  It's a feeling of a much greater connection to our Moo Do Values, especially thanks to the seminars provided by our leadership.  I reconnected with individuals I hadn't seen since the 60th Anniversary in Korea, as well as the original Guardians of the Art weekend.  I made new connections, and even helped Gup members to enjoy and value their experience through either officiating a ring, or picking up the spirits of students who didn't place in competition.  The latter, I think, made me feel the best about the experience.

Thank you, Kwan Jang Nim, the SAC, TAC, HKI, BOD, the HQ staff, Coordinators, Officials, Volunteers, Attendees (and their families!) for helping to make this such an amazing weekend for my brother, Richard, and I.  Sorry if I missed anyone in my thanks!

We can't wait to do it again next year.

I will never forget this incredible event. I agree whole heartedly with all of the previous comments. I didn’t start going to National Events until I was an Ee Dan. I had lots of legitimate excuses. I have now been to two Moment with the Masters sessions, the Korean 60th Anniversary Celebration and this, my first Nationals. I can not turn back time. I can only encourage all members of the Moo Duk Kwan, no matter the rank, or age or financial condition, don’t wait like I did until "everything lines up"; just go. You will never regret going. I only regret not going as a white belt. There really was something for everyone. Kahm Sa Ham Nee Dah to all of the volunteers and senior members for their work and contribution to an amazing experience.
